Special Announcements – 乐播传媒视频 Senior Secondary College Every Student, Every Opportunity, Success for all Wed, 11 Dec 2024 22:15:54 +0000 en-US hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.6.1 Update from the VCAA – 2024 VCE Examinations /?p=37624 Wed, 11 Dec 2024 22:15:53 +0000 /?p=37624 I write to advise that the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) has completed the marking and analysis of the 2024 VCE examinations.

The Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre has considered the examination results data provided by VCAA and approved the progression to calculation of ATARs. VCE results and ATARs will be available as planned on Thursday 12 December.
In the course of the marking process, the VCAA became aware that a further 9 examination replica covers included examination material that could be viewed using specialised software, bringing the total number of examinations impacted to 65.

The analysis conducted by the Expert Advisory Panel has concluded that 25 of the 65 examinations either had sufficient changes made to them or the published material was such that no advantage could be obtained from it.
The panel乐播传媒视频檚 analysis of the remaining 40 examinations identified 69 students with anomalous results across 5 exams, out of more than 304,000 total examinations.

None of these students were clustered by school or any other relationship that could be determined, suggesting that there was no co-ordinated behaviour to access examination material.

To avoid any consequent disadvantage for other students, the Panel recommended that those 69 students were removed from the standard study score calculation, including the distribution of study scores.
The scores of the 69 students were then inserted into the overall distribution at a matched point, after the study scores had been distributed.

In no cases have students had marks deducted from their examination results.
The VCAA again acknowledges and apologises for the stress and concern that this process has caused to the students and educators impacted.

Additional information, including the list of impacted exams and Q&As, is available at:

Yours sincerely,

Dr Marcia Devlin AM
Interim Chief Executive Officer
Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority

Update from the VCAA – Year 12 Exams 2024 /?p=37602 Wed, 27 Nov 2024 01:00:43 +0000 /?p=37602 A message from the Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority.

I write further to my , regarding the work underway to address the errors that have impacted the 2024 Victorian Certificate of Education examinations.

The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) today has published the list of 56 VCE examinations impacted by the inadvertent publication of examination material on the exam cover sheets.

The list is available on the VCAA乐播传媒视频檚 website.
In no case was a full examination published early.

The exam cover sheet error represents a potential risk of advantage. Whether this became an actual advantage will only be determined when the marking of the examinations is completed.

I understand, regret and apologise for the concern caused by the early publication of some examination material.
Additional information, including Q&As, is on our website:

Yours sincerely,
Dr Marcia Devlin AM

2025 House Structure /?p=37570 Mon, 21 Oct 2024 00:34:37 +0000 /?p=37570 Hi All,
At present 乐播传媒视频 Senior Secondary College operates within a house structure of four houses; Gawungwa (Yellow), Wagarra (Blue), Wanumarru (Red) and Nangwiya (Green).

In 2024, 乐播传媒视频 Middle Years College moved to a 3 house structure featuring only Wagarra, Wanumarru and Nangwiya houses across both Felltimber and Huon campuses.

In order to align with 乐播传媒视频 Middle Years College and to support the transition from Year 9 to Year 10 the decision has been made for 乐播传媒视频 Senior Secondary College to also move to a three house structure in 2025. This will see the reallocation of Gawungwa students in Years 10 and 11 across the three remaining houses. These changes will be in effect for Head Start commencing on the 19th November.

乐播传媒视频 Senior Secondary College is committed to the personalised attention and support provided within our house structure and has maintained the staffing of our student operations team across the three houses to continue to provide the same levels of support and engagement with students and families as we always have. Our Gawungwa House Leaders are working closely with the other houses to reallocate students across the remaining houses and will support their transition.

We are also committed to maintaining student voice and leadership opportunities and seek to maintain or increase the student leadership roles held from previous years in 2025.

I would like to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of the Gawungwa Leadership team, past and present, in their support of students and staff and in supporting a smooth transition for their students in 2025.

We look forward to an exciting year for our remaining houses in 2025 at 乐播传媒视频 Senior Secondary College.

Regards,
Mark Smit
Assistant Principal
